The collaboration between Wipro and Google Cloud, which is set to support Wipro’s 180,000 employees, will bring the company’s SAP applications and workload to the cloud.
One initiative planned under the partnership involves modernising and transforming its core enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to SAP’s S/4HANA.
As well as leveraging advanced intelligent ERP from SAP, Wipro will make use of increased flexibility and scalability provided by Google Cloud.
In addition, Wipro plans to roll out G Suite for some employees as a workplace productivity platform, which will bring added interoperability and security controls, as well as real-time collaboration as employees continue to work from home.

This isn’t the first endeavour that Wipro and Google Cloud have undertaken together, with Wipro’s previously established Google Cloud practice powering business and technology transformation for joint enterprise customers, including application modernisation, data analytics and AI.
Additionally, Wipro has integrated Google’s multi-cloud app modernisation platform, Anthos, into its service offerings.
