New Thomas International CEO Gill will look to lead the capitalisation of opportunities to help businesses get the best out of their hiring strategies by looking beyond skills and experience.
Before taking on the role, bringing over 35 years’ technology sector experience, Gill served as executive vice-president and managing director for UK & Ireland at Sage. Prior to this, he held senior roles at Epicor Software, IGT, HP and Oracle.
In addition, he is a member of the Digital Economy Council, and was a board member of TechUK.
Gill will take over from Guy Ballantine, who had been interim CEO of Thomas International since December 2o19, and will remain with the organisation as COO, a position he has held since joining in 2018.
The appointment coincides with a pivotal time for Thomas International, as it looks to launch its new SaaS-based talent assessment platform this month.

CEO designate at Thomas International, Gill commented: “I am proud and excited to be joining Thomas International as CEO at such an important and pivotal point in its journey. The pending new platform launch is a key milestone for Thomas International, and the team should feel very proud and extremely energised by what they have achieved thus far.
“However, having a great product is just one ingredient; add into the mix a 40 year history, an extremely committed and talented team, a solid business partner like Palamon Capital Partners, and a vast global market opportunity with currently no clear dominant player, and you have a great recipe for success.
“This is an extremely exciting time to be joining Thomas International, a business that does amazing work in positively impacting business performance and individual’s careers. I’m joining Thomas International to make a real difference and to execute the vision.”
Fergus Brownlee, chairman of Thomas International, commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Sabby Gill to his new role as CEO of Thomas International. He brings with him an impressive track record of success in the technology sector that will greatly assist in Thomas’s ongoing digital transformation and our journey towards becoming the leading global talent assessment platform provider.
“I would also like to thank Guy Ballantine who stepped up to the interim CEO position in December 2019 at a time of impending huge transformation for Thomas. Within three months of his appointment, the impact of Covid-19 struck, but nonetheless, over the nine months with Guy at the helm, Thomas has accelerated its transformation in readiness for significant global growth.
“Guy has won wide admiration and respect for his management style and leadership. He will be an invaluable support to Sabby as they further develop the Thomas International brand.”
