IoT insights provider Samsara has announced the appointment of former Salesforce and Microsoft executive Dave Bossio as its new chief information security officer
Bossio brings over two decades’ experience in information security and operating mission-critical services to Samsara, and will look to bolster threat intelligence, vulnerability management, security engineering and operations, and incident management, among other focus areas.
The new executive appointment joins following a three-year tenure at Salesforce, where he served as senior vice-president, security integration, driving information security strategy across all business units and new acquisitions.
Prior to this, Bossio spent 17 years at Microsoft, where he held the role of head of Windows security and platform integrity, leading a program management team in areas including cryptography, data protection and public key infrastructure (PKI).
In addition, Bossio served as a Navy submarine officer earlier in his career, holding responsibility for directing ship and nuclear power plant operations, including personnel development, equipment installation, maintenance, and training.
