Opencast have opted to appoint from within, with Lawson taking on the position of CEO after being the consultancy’s head of corporate development since December 2019.
In his new role, Lawson will be responsible for leading further growth plans, which include employing 300 people by the end of 2025.
As part of this, the firm will be looking to increase service capabilities within a number of areas, such as user-centred design, platform engineering & DevOps, and data & analytics.
The new CEO brings over 16 years’ experience in providing digital delivery and innovation solutions for clients across a range of sectors.
Prior to joining Opencast Software, Lawson held roles at Capgemini Invent, Capgemini and BT Global Services, helping to fuel business growth by increasing service capabilities.
The appointment of Lawson as CEO follows Opencast’s announcement of its headcount increasing by 50% since the beginning of 2020, despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
