New board appointment Riley will be overseeing the continued growth and scaling of the Managed Security Service (MSS) portfolio at Bridewell Consulting, including the firm’s Security Operations Centre (SOC) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service.
Bringing nearly 20 years’ experience in designing, implementing and leading on secure networking solutions, Riley most recently served as CTO of Timico, and was responsible for the managed service provider’s strategic direction and digital transformation, as well as service development.
Prior to this, Riley was head of infrastructure at Adapt (a Datapipe company, part of Rackspace Technology), working closely alongside current Bridewell director Scott Nicholson in developing secure cloud services.
The arrival of the new director of managed security services, whose experience spans on-premise, public, private and hybrid cloud services, is the latest in a string of new hires at Bridewell, and follows growth of 75% year-on-year.
Essential guide: How to choose a Managed Service Provider
“I have been passionate about the role cyber security plays in infrastructure and cloud services for many years and am excited to work for an ambitious and fast growth business like Bridewell,” said new director Riley.
“Managed security services continues to be one of the biggest growth areas in IT, and I look forward to helping develop opportunities to expand Bridewell’s services, mature our capabilities and strengthen our position in the security market.”
Scott Nicholson, director at Bridewell Consulting, commented: “Martin brings tremendous expertise and experience to our business, and will be instrumental in helping us deliver on our ambitious growth strategy.
“Our 24×7 Managed Detection and Response capability around Azure Sentinel and Defender XDR is already best in class across the industry, but with Martin’s support, we hope to strengthen this further and deliver high end security automation and operations across Critical National Infrastructure.”
Anthony Young, director at Bridewell Consulting, added: “When first meeting Martin it was clear to see he had passion for cyber security and delivering an excellent service to customers, which aligns with our values.
“That, coupled with his experience across managed services and scaling businesses through technology automation, makes him a brilliant addition to the board and will help us deliver on our growth plans.”
