Shipments of Linux servers in Western Europe will triple from 162,000 in 2003 to almost half a million in 2007, according to a report by IDC Research, sponsored by LinuxWorld. This will push the value of the market from $621 million to $1.9 billion over the same period.
“All major vendors throughout Europe and worldwide are prepared to sell and support Linux servers,” says Martin Hingley, vice president of IDC’s European Systems Group. “This will continue to fuel the spread of Linux.”
