We can’t talk about the ATL startup scene without mentioning Atlanta Tech Village. This self-described ‘tech hub’ has led to the creation of more than 6,500 jobs and has helped raise over $900 million in funding since its inception in 2013, according to vice-president Karen Houghton.
The village ranks among the top five largest tech hubs in the nation, housing over 1,100 people and more than 300 startups. Key partners include corporations like Turner, Google, Amazon and Coca-Cola.
Fintech
In recent years, Atlanta has been rapidly growing its Fintech scene, so much so that the city has earned the nickname ‘Transaction Alley’, thanks to its large community of payment processing tech companies like Global Payments and Worldpay.

Software development and engineering make up one of Atlanta’s strongest sectors. The city’s wealth of employment opportunities is supported by the region’s growing need for IT and engineering professionals.

With more than 75 cyber security companies generating an estimated $2.6 billion annually, Georgia is one of America’s elite cyber security hubs, ranking in the top five states for cyber security growth potential by Business Facilities Magazine in 2019.

Life outside work
Outside the hours of 9 to 5 Atlanta has a lot to offer. The city has a nationally-recognised food scene and is also a hot spot for music and sports.
If you want to escape the hustle and bustle, Atlanta is the perfect base. The North Georgia Mountains are just 90 minutes north of the city and Morningside Nature Reserve is just 7 miles from Downtown.
