The cost estimate is based on the average time it takes workers to deal with a message, the cost of more powerful servers and more bandwidth to cope with message volume, and the cost of technical support.
… About 70% of workers in the US receive very little spam and 50% received no spam at work at all, according to Pew Research.
An explanation? Perhaps every worker receiving junk email spends all day deleting it.
