IT managers are unclear about their data management strategies, and are wasting time and money on the unhelpful and unintegrated technology they have in place already – so says the results of recent research by market analyst Vanson Bourne and enterprise applications vendor Oracle.
The report finds that three-quarters of the organisations surveyed (UK companies with a turnover of over £250 million) do not have an integrated environment. This leads to problems with reconfiguration of applications after hardware downtime, which for 68% of respondents takes as long as a week. For two-fifths of respondents, this affects up to three of their corporate applications, but 15% have as may as ten affected.
