Between these two service providers, there is no doubt that you can watch your favorite TV shows online. All you have to do is pick a particular service that has the most titles that you like. Alternatively, you can sign up for both or use the free trials to try before you subscribe.

No Contract

Both Netflix and Vidgo have one thing in common: no contract. Unlike cable services, you don’t need to sign up for a full 12-month service to be able to watch your favorite shows.

In fact, you can start by giving the free trial a go before deciding whether you want to keep the service.

Netflix now charges around $9 per account. You can sign up using up to 5 devices and have different profiles for them.

You can also set up your own playlist and get recommendations based on the movies and TV shows you have watched in the past.

More importantly, there is an option to set up a profile for kids if you want to let your children use Netflix too.

Vidgo, on the other hand, offers the same set of features and a no-contract approach. You don’t have to worry about having to sign up for longer terms at all, because the streaming service is using the same pay-as-you-go service model.

There is no official pricing on the company’s website just yet, you can expect the service to cost around the same amount as – if not lower than – Netflix and other streaming TV services.

Live TV Streaming

There is one department where Vidgo is miles ahead of Netflix, and that is live TV streaming. While you can follow your favorite TV shows and movies once they are available on Netflix, there is no way to watch the news or other live shows on TV channels.

Vidgo is being designed to change that. Aside from on-demand television, you can also access live channels and programming directly from Vidgo’s streaming service.

There is no need to subscribe to a separate service or have to stream from other sources just to watch the latest football match or your favorite news program.

The live TV streaming service from Vidgo has another trick up its sleeve: online DVR. Yes, you can record your favorite TV programs and watch them later.

You don’t even have to be home to record TV shows, since Vidgo’s platform can be accessed from anywhere. This introduces the audience to a whole new streaming TV experience.

It will be interesting to see how Vidgo is accepted by consumers once it has officially launched. There have been several closed beta sessions and the reports so far are showing a promising alternative to other streaming TV services like Netflix.

While the two have similarities and differences, Vidgo’s (assumed) lower pricing and more programming options will certainly attract customers to try the service more. Besides, who doesn’t want the ability to DVR a football match from their smartphone or other mobile device?
