2023 Women in IT Awards Asia shortlist announced

The fifth annual Women in IT Awards Asia looking to recognise and raise awareness of female tech talent across the Asia region

This year’s Women in IT Awards Asia ceremony will take place on the evening of the 28th June at the Shangri La Hotel in Singapore — following the Women in IT Summit — presenting attendees with an opportunity to celebrate and honour contributions made to the tech industry alongside like-minded professionals.

Hosted by Information Age and DiversityQ, the event invites women, allies, and organisations from across the Asia tech industry to come together and recognise the impacts that women in tech have made over the past year.

According to a report by The World Bank, women make up under 40 per cent of the global workforce, and recent findings from the European Institute for Gender Equality show that only 17 per cent of ICT specialists are women. By comparison, 34 per cent of STEM graduates are women.

These figures, along with the finding that women in the ICT sector are earning 19 per cent less than men, show that more work must be done to ensure true gender diversity in tech.
